We are so incredibly proud of our very own Caroline Terrio on completing her third century ride (100 mile ride)! On June 2nd Caroline participated in America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A Little About the Ride

This was the 28th annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring rides you will ever experience. Spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and full support by experienced ride organizers make this ride a ‘must do’ for any avid recreational bicyclist.

Nearly 3,000 cyclists from throughout the United States come to Tahoe to ride around the Lake. For many, nearly 2,000 riders, they are here as a personal challenge and commitment to their friends and loved ones who have been inflicted with the Leukemia & Lymphoma disease.

Each passionate rider has raised close to $4,000 to be here and some have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund the research to discover a cure for these deadly diseases. This event is the largest fundraiser for Lymphoma & Leukemia Society in the nation – one year they raised nearly $8,ooo,ooo dollars.

Caroline’s Participation – Her “Why”

This cause is extremely near and dear to her heart and she has been involved with this organization since 2007. While Caroline does not have any personal connection to blood cancer, she has had many connections in her life to other forms of cancers experienced by close loved ones such as her father passing away at just 50 years of age from lung cancer due to smoking cigarettes. Caroline was just 17 years old at the time, a senior in high school. Her cousin, Georgina, in Argentina is currently in remission, but was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and underwent chemo and a mastectomy.  It is important to understand that once a cure for blood cancers is found, cures for other types of cancer should hopefully follow.

Since her involvement with this organization she has raised about $10,000! She plans to continue to work with this organization to raise even more!
